David Carradine, the actor best known to us for starring in the films Kill Bill directed by Quentin Tarantino, as well as many kung fu films during the 1970s and 1980s died today in a Bangkok hotel room. He was 72 years old and was found in the wardrobe. It appears that he hanged himself. People have been speculating that he was in the middle of some sort of sexual act just like the singer from INXS, Michael Hutchence, who also died in this sort of way. This type of act is called erotic asphyxiation.
Carradine was a well loved actor who practiced the art of tai chi and was loved amongst many but was also seen as a little racist by the chinese and japanese comunity due to his depiction of chinese characters in several of his big movies when he himself was a white man. His death in such a strange way is seen as a real blight on his character if he did commit suicide or was in the midst of a sex act.
Whatever the truth is, this is a sad day for his family and friends and he will be sorely missed.
